NetXfer for business

The free app is for personal use. For work, license the same app, keep the rendezvous and relay server inside your own domain, or get the whole Net-X-Code stack with NetXfer built in.

Three ways to deploy

From a few seats to a facility

Every option uses the same NetXfer 2.0 app and the same security model: the file travels computer to computer, every byte is AES-256 encrypted, and no server ever holds a key.

Option 1

NetXfer Commercial

The desktop app, licensed for work.

  • Same app, same features as the free version
  • Windows, macOS and Linux
  • Direct, rendezvous and encrypted relay transfers
  • Uses netxfer.com, or your own server
  • Per seat licensing, volume pricing available

For teams, freelancers and departments that exchange files with clients and each other.

Option 3

Net-X-Code Server

NetXfer inside a full media server.

  • NetXfer transfers driven from a web UI or a REST API
  • Capture, convert, clip, partial file restore, closed captions
  • Baseband, SMPTE 2110 and IP video in and out
  • Standard Windows or Linux servers and VMs, single or clustered
  • Local, network and cloud storage

For broadcasters, studios and post facilities that need transfer as one step of an automated pipeline. See netxcode.com.

Why NetXfer at work

Built for media, trusted with anything

NetXfer grew out of the transfer engine in Drastic's broadcast servers. The requirements that shaped it, big files, bad links, no tolerance for leaks, are the same ones any business with sensitive data has.

No third party custody

There is no cloud copy to be breached, subpoenaed, mined or forgotten. Direct and rendezvous transfers never touch a server; the 2.0 relay passes only ciphertext the server cannot open and deletes on delivery.

End to end, always

AES-256 over SRT on every transfer, AES-256-GCM on every relay chunk, keys that exist only in the two apps. Encryption is not a setting anyone can turn off.

Fast on real networks

SRT over UDP fills the link you have and keeps going through packet loss and latency, from a location uplink to an intercontinental hop, where TCP tools slow to a fraction of the line rate.

Gets there, provably

Transfers resume after any interruption, including a restart, and MD5 validation confirms that the delivered file matches the original byte for byte.

Your infrastructure, your rules

Keep the server on your domain, behind your proxy, with your certificates and retention. Disable the relay, restrict addresses, or run with direct connections only.

Support from the people who wrote it

Drastic has built broadcast and post-production software since 1995. Commercial customers get support from the engineers, and a say in what comes next.

Where it fits

Typical workflows

Location to post

A DIT or data wrangler queues the day's camera files; the facility's ingest machine pulls them overnight at full line rate, verified with MD5, with nothing stored in between.

Between facilities

Affiliates, remote production hubs and archive sites exchange finished programmes and raw captures server to server, under REST control from Net-X-Code.

Vendor exchange

VFX, colour, sound and localisation vendors receive and return large deliverables without anyone uploading unreleased material to a third party.

Regulated data

Legal, medical, engineering and financial teams move datasets and records that may not sit on a shared cloud service, with keys that never leave the two endpoints.

Nothing changes in the app when you license it. Keep your installations and preferences, add the licence, and optionally switch the Custom Domain preference to your own server.

If you are evaluating, the how it works page has the protocol and server details your security team will ask for, and the manual covers every preference.
